Beth O'Leary's The Flatshare, her debut, was one of my favorite reads of 2019 and her third novel, The Road Trip one of my favorites of 2021, but I only recently read The Switch, her 2020 release. I had been saving it as "Break in Case of Emergency" and I'm glad I waited to read it.
I absolutely loved the concept of two people switching their lives and experiencing new things. It not only helped Eileen and Leena explore each other's lives better, but helped them to learn so much about themselves and what they wanted from life. The story is lovely and I read the book in a single sitting. I love Beth O'Leary's ability to tell a story that leaves you thinking about it long after you've finished it and wanting more. She has quickly become one of my favorite authors and I eagerly await news of upcoming releases!
