I always get really excited when I find out Helena Hunting has a new book coming out. I love her story telling and writing style, and I know I'm going to get a wonderful love story even if she some times makes her characters work for it.
Starry-Eyed Love did not disappoint me. I loved the energy between London Spark and Jackson Holt from the moment they met. I really enjoyed how their instant attraction slowly developed into more, and how they comported themselves while fighting an attraction that would not quit. My only complaint would be the incredible build up of chemistry did not lead to an equal expression of intimacy, which really let me down. I was expecting fireworks and got a sparkler that didn't fizz for very long.
I also loved seeing Avery and Harley Speaks, London't older and younger sister respectively, as well as Declan, whom I met in When Sparks Fly where he and Avery fall in love. However, I was most excited to see some of my favorite characters from another of Helena's series- the Shacking Up series-make cameos. I missed Cosy and Griffin (Making Up) and Linc and Wren (Handle With Care), and it makes me want to re-read the entire series and fall in love with them all over again.
In the meantime I will be counting down the days to Make a Wish, Harley's story, coming January 24th, 2023!
