I picked a great title to be my first Rebecca Ross book, and it just so happens to be her adult debut and the first book in a duology. A River Enchanted is loosely based on Irish mythology, and the moment I learned that information, I added the book to my to-be-read-list. Besides the fantasy elements, it had some of my favorite themes like childhood enemies to lovers, a mystery, intrigue, and dynastic feuding. I also found I really enjoyed the multiple points of views the story is told in, and it really added another layer of depth to already fantastic worldbuilding.
I found myself hooked and unable to put the book down, and the ending has left me both eager and excited for the next book A Fire Endless which comes out in December of this year, which seems so close and yet so far away. I don't know how I'll wait that long to find out what's happened with all the upheaval and discoveries Jack and Adaira, as well as their families, and clans have faced and what new threats the people I've come to love will face.
