At this event Gabrielle will be exploring concepts of power dynamics, presenting new research, and unearthing sexism at the center of birth control, Ejaculate Responsibly delves into some of the following arguments:

  • Men cause all unwanted pregnancies, but toxic masculinity relieves them of that accountability.
  • Eighty percent of the birth control industry is targeted at the small window of female fertility which is notoriously difficult to predict while ignoring male fertility, which is easy to predict and anticipate.
  • Vasectomies are safe, typically covered by insurance, and the most reliable birth control option at 99.99percent effective.
  • Obtaining hormonal birth control can be a lengthy, invasive, and expensive experience, and there are people actively trying to make it more difficult. Hormonal birth control has a long list of side effects, some of which are very serious. The birth control pill is much riskier than any of the COVID-19 vaccines, and yet, it is prescribed daily without hesitation, often beginning at age thirteen or fourteen (sometimes younger), and is taken for decades.
  • Cultural conversations about abortion are missing key perspectives and need to be reframed. The approach in this book focuses on prevention, which is effective in reaching people on all sides of the abortion debate.
  • Ejaculate Responsibly rectifies misplaced accountability on women’s bodies and calls on men to become active participants when it comes to preventing unwanted pregnancies.
